Helping Institutions/Homes care for Mental Patients

We provide food and other necessaties for several Institutions/homes which provide shelter for mentaly retarted patients and patients recovering after mental treatment. We have recognized that theses people are not in a position to take care of themselves or to secure their rights or even to represent themselves. Therefore there is a great need of someone to step in, someone who can help them to take care, secure their rights and provide basic needs.

Selection and How:-

There are patients who have been treated for a long time in government mental hospital as internal patients and let down by their relations/guardians. Once they have recovered to a certain extent they need a homely environment in order to recover further. Keeping all the patients together could worsen the situation for the aforesaid patients, and more importantly they need a home to live peacefully under the guidance/directions of some other. As the first step we have identified the organizations that work for these people and we assist them financially for their food. We have started this with an organization that is having 50 mental patients internally. We expect to expand this activity as our funds grow.

Donating WheelChairs and Bicycles

Our organisation is in the process of making donations of Wheel Chairs for the permenantly disabled, thus easing the burden carried by their parents and guardians. What's needed is a letter from a recognised medical practitioner, a letter from the gramaseva niladari and a copy of the national identity card. We are currently in the process of expanding this activity through funds provided through kind hearted people.

It is also in our interest to donate bicycles to poverty stricken families and their school going children as a means of enhancing their lives. This project falls under our Poverty Alliviation program launched recently.

Poverty Alliviation

We recently launched language training, early childhood education support and programs to strengthen spiritual life with the intention of upgrading the condition of life towards a happy family, and the donation of bycicles to the extremely poor living in harsh conditions.
